Share you images for a better Aotearoa - New Zealand
Your photography and design skills will carry sustainability stories to peoples’ hearts and minds.
Graphic designs, posters and highly manipulated photographs are welcome alongside more representational images.
There is no charge for posting images on the website, but we do request $15 from any subsequent sale of an individual print. These contributions are used to run the website and store the images on your behalf.
All images must be made available for sale and to trigger a donation to an organisation working to build New Zealand’s sustainability and resilience. The images remain your property. Ecosystems Photography is merely storing them for display on your behalf. You can withdraw the images at anytime.
Your lens on sustainability.
Please send us at least ten of your images for consideration to get started. We can add more later if the site is working well for you.
Your images could fit one of sustainability or resilience category already included in the “Gallery”, or some completely new direction (we’ll create a new theme to carry your work). We are showing images of nature, society and economy, people and places within Aotearoa - all of which are crucial elements of a sustainable future for New Zealand.
Images for the website must be no more than 2500 pixels wide, but the ideal is around 1500 to allow them to load quickly and display nicely. There is a 60 MP limit per image. Maximum file size is 2 Mb, but around 500 Kb is ideal. Jpeg, GIF and PNG files can be submitted. Use RGB and the sRGB colour profile.
You can include a watermark or embedded logo if you are concerned about piracy. Of course you will be selling the full resolution images, but the purchaser needs to pay and come to you for those.
Tell us what is your image showing us?
We can make a difference by combining a startling or evocative image with a 200-word sustainability or resilience story. We will work with you to create the sustainability and resilience commentary if you prefer not to write it yourself.
You might also like to add some comments about the image and your process in photographing or designing it.
All your images can be annotated with metadata including: Title, Photographer, Lens and Camera used, Exposure details, Date, Location, Image size , Recommended printing size limits, Price, and Keywords to help search engines find your image online.
Your images will be appear in two places on the site - your own personal ‘Photographer’ page, and in collections of images around sustainability themes in the Gallery. We will mix the order of the images in the ‘Gallery’ section so that all the contributors’ have equal exposure to visitors to the site.
Please suggest a charity, NGO or organisation that you would like to receive a donation from each sale of your work.

If you want to join us
… we first need to create your personal profile for the site
We ask you for a photograph or two of yourself and 200 words about you, your work, and your personal vision.
This profile will be uploaded to your own personal gallery page which is then linked to the Photographers page.
You can use this space to add links to drive traffic to your own websites and social media pages.
